Siver Colloid

Part of NSA's sales patter was that they had impregnated the carbon in their filters with "silver colloid" - aka microbrial silver or silver nanoparticles.

The friendly salesperson would highlight the use of silver to segue into how silver is anti-bacterial adding an anecodote that this is why royalty started to use silver spoons.

Adding silver to the carbon in their cartridges was supposedly why NSA cartridges could last for 3 years ie much longer than the industry standard of 6 months. (Plus, subconciously associating their sales target with royalty in this way helped with sales).

While silver colloid is indeed anti-bacterial and would prevent the build up of bacteria inside carbon filters, the sad truth was that almost all of the silver would be flushed away within a few months.

We send these with your new filter so there is no need to request them as extra

This is a good quality taste and odour filter. It uses Granular Activated Carbon to remove contaminants such as chlorine.
